Hi all,
1. Thanks
2. Chapter Challenge
3. Upcoming rides
4. General Information
Thanks:
I want to give a big thanks to Joanne D for planning and leading the ride to Brown County / Southern Indiana. We had great weather. Admittedly a bit hot on Friday, but on the bright side, no rain the entire weekend! The rides were awesome as we toured tree lined roads weaving along the rivers and lakes. Most of us had Sena comms to help navigate our way, as many of us with a GPS know, they can be a bit finicky.
Chapter Challenge:
For 2022, the world’s easiest HOG Chapter Challenge was enacted. Ride HOG! That’s it. For each HOG ride you participate in, you get (1) entry into our drawing. If you lead or sweep a HOG ride you get (2) entries! At the end of the year, we’ll total up every HOG member’s entries and have a drawing for a $250.00 gift card. How easy is that!! So come on out and ride. Bookkeeping: As the Head Road Captain, I’m keeping track of those points. If for some reason I’m unable to attend a ride (oh no!), have another officer keep track, and if no officer is present (hopefully never), please have the ride leader contact me and let me know who was on the ride and who swept.
Upcoming Rides:
Mark is doing a great job of keeping everyone aware of the upcoming rides/events via email AND on our HOG Calendar page
Sunday, June 26 – Village Idiot Pizza – Maumee, Ohio KSU 1:00 PM
Saturday, July 9 – Mystery Ride – KSU 10:00 AM
Saturday, July 23 – Lunch Ride Amish area – KSU 10:00 AM
2-in-1 Overnighter – We’re planning 2 rides in 1 by doing a “normal” 3 day overnighter to Flight 93 memorial, plus a Pennsylvania Loop ride. A longer ride includes the aforementioned 3 day ride, but rather than returning on Sunday, we will continue on to New England for more fun riding. Dates are noted below. I currently have 13 members signed up to go, with 5 returning on Sunday and 8 continuing to New England. Dates, locations and hotels are all on the HOG calendar in the above link. If you plan on going and/or have any issues with reservations, please reach out to me via email.
· Part 1: Friday July 29 thru Sunday July 31: Flight 93 memorial and Pennsylvania Loop Ride, then return home
· Part 2: Sunday July 31 thru Thursday Aug 11: New England Tour
General Info:
I’m currently juggling two officer positions: Head Road Captain and Assistant Director. If you have an interest in being the Head Road Captain, please let me know. A few of the general tasks for the position:
· Coordinate with other officers and members to plan HOG rides for the coming year.
· Lead rides and/or recruit others to lead. · Participate in officer meetings to provide direction for the Chapter. Officer meetings are generally held just prior to our member meetings, and occasionally prior to the riding year begins.
